CPG ConnectJohn Servais, CPG’s Senior Vice President of Benefits Policy and Design, explains how The Medical Trust’s new healthcare navigator will serve members whose plans use the Anthem, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare networks.
I’ve been working in the healthcare industry for a very long time. Over the years, I’ve seen health insurance become more and more costly and complex. That’s why I’m so pleased to announce a new benefit that will help our members navigate the intricacies of our fragmented medical system, save money, and achieve better outcomes.
Your Healthcare Experience
Quantum Health, a pioneer and leader in the field of healthcare navigation, will provide this benefit. Since 1999, Quantum’s care coordinators have been supporting individuals, whether they’re looking for a specialist, managing a chronic condition, or simply trying to stay healthy.
Our official launch with Quantum will be January 1, 2025, when it will become the single point of contact for active members and pre-65 former employees enrolled in plans that use the Anthem and Cigna networks. That means members will have one ID card and one phone number to call for all their needs (except dental), including medical, prescription drug, behavioral health, and even the Employee Assistance Program.
You Still Get to Choose
Adding coordination, however, doesn’t mean changing healthcare providers. As always, members may choose their own doctors (in and out of network) and call them to make appointments or ask questions.
Quantum care coordinators will be there to serve as personal guides, helping members, for example, to
Ready for Retirees
Also in January, Quantum will be ready to connect retirees with UnitedHealthcare or with a personal care coach who can support them as they navigate medical, prescription, vision, and behavioral health needs.
Care coaches can simplify the experience for retirees and caregivers by helping them schedule medical appointments, arrange for home meal deliveries, locate top-rated nursing homes, initiate appeals, and craft advanced directives. Of course, like active members, retirees enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare® GMA plan can see any provider (in and out of network) as long as the provider accepts the plan and has not opted out of or been excluded/precluded from Medicare.
We’re very happy to make Quantum available to the people we serve. Other denominations have experience with Quantum, and their feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s a great resource, and we hope our members will make the most of it.
We’ve been noticing an increase in questions and healthcare claims related to mental health. We hear you and want to ensure that all of our health plan members are aware of the resources available to support you, your family, and your colleagues, should the need arise.
We offer a range of programs and services to help eligible clergy, lay employees, and their dependents* manage stress and other mental health challenges, from depression to addiction. Help spread the word!
*These benefits are available to people participating in a healthcare plan sponsored by The Episcopal Church Medical Trust.
