In January, the Rev. Canon Arlette Benoit Joseph stepped into the role of CPG’s Chief Church Relations Officer. “Church Relations is more than just a function—it is a ministry that plays a crucial role in advancing the purpose, vision, and values of the Church Pension Group by bringing Church insights to CPG’s strategic discussions and sharing CPG’s priorities with the people we serve,” she says. “I see myself as a bridge of sorts, connecting the Church that nurtured and formed me with an organization that continues to inspire me.”
In this role, Arlette travels extensively, meeting clergy and lay leaders at conferences, gatherings, and events across the Church. “One of the greatest joys of this work is the opportunity to share the integrity of CPG’s vision while also hearing firsthand the needs, hopes, and concerns of those we serve,” she reflects. “It’s a new expression of ministry for me—one that blends my deep love for the Church with my passion for service, and I’m truly loving it.”
Her journey to this work has been shaped by years of faithful service in parish and diocesan ministry. Prior to CPG, Arlette spent six years as Canon for Transition Ministry in the Diocese of Pennsylvania, held positions in the Diocese of New York and Atlanta, and worked at the Absalom Jones Center.
Before joining CPG as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in January 2025, Julian Chung served as General Counsel and Head of Compliance at Enveritas, Inc., and as General Counsel at Turnberry Associates. Before this, she was a partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP and held various positions at other leading law firms.
“CPG is a high-performing organization working in highly regulated industries, and we will be continually challenged to adapt and operate in a rapidly shifting world as laws and regulations are developing and changing quickly,” Julian notes. “I was drawn to CPG not only because of its focus on professionalism, but because its purpose and vision of supporting the Church was something that I knew I could bring my full self to. I’m pleased to find that the wide range of skills I’ve gained throughout my career have left me well prepared for this new role.”
Geeva Ebens came to CPG as Chief People Officer in October 2024. She had previously served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Omnicom Health Group and has held other senior-level human resources and business positions.
“People are at the core of everything we do at CPG,” Geeva explains. “So, we need to be strategic about whom we hire and how we work together to remain in alignment with our purpose and vision. Many employees have stayed for decades because they love working here. With so many now approaching retirement, we’re evolving into even more of a multi-generational organization. Each generation brings fresh perspectives, creating exciting opportunities to learn and grow together.”
