Your Retirement Benefits
As you begin your retirement, make sure that you understand the benefits you may be entitled to through The Church Pension Fund (CPF) and its affiliates (CPG), Medicare, and Social Security.
Medical Benefits
If you are retiring prior to age 65
The Episcopal Church Medical Trust (Medical Trust) offers a variety of plan options nationwide for eligible retirees who are not yet Medicare-eligible and their eligible dependents.
If you are retiring at age 65 or older
At age 65, if you are eligible, you must select and sign up for Medicare Part A, and, once you are age 65 or older and no longer eligible for active health benefits, Medicare Part B.
Select a Group Medicare Advantage Plan
The Medical Trust offers two Group Medicare Advantage health plan options from which eligible retirees can choose. CPF provides a subsidy for eligible retired clergy and their eligible spouses toward the cost of these plans.
Life Insurance
Do you have enough life insurance?
Your active life insurance benefit through your participation in the Clergy Pension Plan was reduced when you retired.
Are you moving?
Our online Retiree Housing Locator provides housing resources throughout the U.S., by state, that are affiliated with The Episcopal Church.
Are you planning to work in the Church during retirement?
If you are, there is a limit to the amount of compensation you can receive from work in the Church during a 12-month period if you are under age 72 and still continue to receive your retirement benefit.

CPG provides a number of benefits for eligible retirees, their eligible spouses and dependents.
